Thoracic Surgery Directors Association:A Multimedia Textbook of Introductory Topics in Cardiothoracic Surgery CD-ROM / Internet Hybrid

This curriculum is intended as a basic information set for residents embarking upon a thoracic surgical residency. It is intended to provide a basic background for clinical care and continued academic achievement.Each segment consists of audio and video material, slides, graphics, references, key readings, textbook excerpts, etc. Each segment is followed by a series of questions to demonstrate proficiency in that particular segment before proceeding. There is also a clinical case-based curriculum format which incorporates all of the textbook sections, but is built around twelve common clinical scenarios that need to be diagnosed and managed. Each of the twelve clinical situations begins with a history and presentation and moves through the diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical issues associated with the patient being managed by the resident.
